Hypoallergenic, ideal for preventing diaper rash
bibilab by Bambiboo ointment created especially for preemies, designed for diaper area care for little ones - including babies born prematurely after the 28th week of pregnancy.
The skin in the diaper area of newborns (especially preemies) is functionally immature. A thinner stratum corneum, higher permeability and greater susceptibility to moisture make its protective barrier more vulnerable to damage. The bibilab by Bambiboo diaper rash ointment is based on the concept of physical skin protection. The blend of lipids and waxes creates an insulating layer on the skin surface, helping reduce contact with moisture and potentially irritating substances.
Additionally, absorbent ingredients such as rice starch help control moisture levels in the diaper area. This is crucial in preventing diaper rash, as excessive moisture weakens the skin barrier.
That’s why bibilab was created when more and more of you started asking for skincare that would be just as gentle and trustworthy as our diapers. We combined our experience as Bambiboo with the knowledge and laboratory precision of Marta Pawłowska - cosmetic safety expert, PhD in pharmaceutical sciences and mother of three children.
“At bibilab by Bambiboo, we focus on four key areas: limiting the penetration of unnecessary substances deep into the skin, supporting the skin barrier, caring for microbiome balance and maintaining physiological pH.”

The bibilab by Bambiboo diaper rash ointment is based on the concept of physical skin protection. The blend of lipids and waxes it contains creates an insulating layer on the skin’s surface, helping to reduce contact with moisture and potentially irritating substances.
In addition, the presence of absorbent ingredients such as rice starch helps control moisture levels in the diaper area. This plays a key role in preventing diaper rash, as excessive moisture promotes skin maceration and weakens the skin’s natural protective barrier.
A newborn’s skin - especially that of a premature baby - is still learning how to perform its protective function. Although it is made up of all the layers found in adult skin, it functions differently. It is more permeable, loses water more quickly, and its hydrolipid barrier, which is responsible for natural protection, is not yet fully developed.
This is partly due to the structure of the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the epidermis. In adults, it consists of several tightly packed layers of cells that act as a tight protective barrier. In infants, these cells are more oval in shape, more loosely arranged, and less strongly connected to one another. As a result, the skin is more permeable to external factors and loses moisture more quickly, leading to dehydration and, consequently, dryness.

A preemie’s skin can be up to three times thinner than the skin of a full-term baby. In the Bibilab by Bambiboo ointment we use rice powder that gently dries the skin surface and creates a protective barrier.
